Abstract
With the increasing aging population, there is a growing need for remote health monitoring and emergency support. This paper presents the design and development of a smart wristband system for monitoring basic physiological parameters and detecting dangerous situations in real time. The system uses an ESP32-S3 microcontroller as the main processing unit. An MPU6500 inertial sensor collects motion data for fall detection, while a MAX30102 sensor measures heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), then transfers it to a monitoring platform via a wireless link. When an emergency event is detected, or an SOS signal is triggered by the user, the system automatically activates an emergency alert and sends relevant information to the user's family members. Experimental results show that the system operates reliably and can provide continuous health monitoring. It can also improve the safety of older adults during their daily activities.
