Abstract
The growing deployment of autonomous electronics in autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, aerospace systems, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and edge artificial intelligence (AI) platforms has intensified the demand for highly reliable and resilient integrated circuits. However, advanced semiconductor devices remain vulnerable to aging effects, thermal stress, process variations, soft errors, and transient faults that can compromise system performance and operational continuity. This paper proposes an AI-enabled self-healing integrated circuit architecture that integrates embedded health monitoring sensors, machine learning-based fault diagnosis, predictive reliability assessment, and adaptive hardware reconfiguration. The proposed framework continuously monitors circuit health, predicts impending failures, and autonomously executes recovery actions to maintain functionality and performance. Experimental evaluation demonstrates fault diagnosis accuracy exceeding 98%, a recovery success rate of 96.5%, and significant improvements in system availability and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). The proposed architecture provides an effective foundation for developing next-generation autonomous electronics with enhanced reliability, sustainability, and operational resilience.
