1. Background and Purpose
The USS is a cross-border community for scientists and researchers with openness, equality, and inclusion. It aims to promote the integrated development of global scientific research and human well-being by facilitating the exchange and sharing of knowledge and cross-border collaboration. USS was registered in Hong Kong in 2023.
In response to the global sustainable development agenda and to promote academic innovation and international cooperation in the fields of resources, environment, energy, and related engineering, the "Resources and Environment Council" (hereinafter referred to as "USS P8") is proposed to be established within the framework of the United Societies of Science (USS). The Council aims to build an interdisciplinary, cross-regional, open, and collaborative international academic platform, bringing together scholars, engineers, policymakers, and industry representatives from around the world to jointly address global challenges such as resource, environmental, and ecological security.
To accelerate the establishment of the Resource and Environment Council, build an interdisciplinary and cross-regional international academic cooperation platform, and gather global experts in resources, environment, energy, and engineering, we are now openly recruiting members for the Preparatory Committee.
2. Scope of Disciplines
The council covers the following nine core disciplinary directions, encouraging interdisciplinary integration and emerging fields:

- Surveying and Mapping Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering
- Territorial Spatial Planning
- Carbon Neutrality Technology and Management

4. Responsibilities of the Preparatory Committee
- Participate in the discussion and formulation of core documents including the council's constitution, organizational structure, and development plan.
- Promote discipline development, member recruitment, international cooperation, and academic event planning.
- Assist in publicity, resource matching, attracting members to the inaugural council, and supporting the establishment of the first council.
- Perform other preparatory tasks assigned by USS and the preparatory working group.
5. Recruitment Requirements
- Academic background or industry experience in resources, environment, energy, or related engineering fields.
- Strong willingness and ability to engage in international cooperation.
- Priority given to scholars with experience in academic organizations.
- Priority given to applicants from different countries/regions to reflect geographical diversity.
- Priority given to early-career researchers, interdisciplinary researchers, and representatives of international organizations and enterprises.
