Memory Management simulator for Analyzing and Visualizing Page Replacement Algorithm

Abstract:

This paper presents a Memory Management Simulator, an interactive tool developed using Python (Flask) and HTML/CSS/JavaScript to visualize page replacement algorithms such as FIFO, LRU, LFU, and Optimal. Users can input memory reference strings, choose algorithms, and observe page replacement processes with animated transitions, tooltips, and graphical outputs showing page faults, hit ratios, and latency. The simulator also explains the efficiency of each algorithm for a given input, enhancing understanding of memory management. Lab results demonstrate that the tool improves learning and helps users analyze algorithm performance effectively.
