Abstract:

On the scientific, engineering, and business fronts, the junction of cloud computing and Big Data has opened up horizons for invention, creativity, and problem-solving.  With ever more complicated digital ecosystems, the possibility to use vast, diversified, and fast moving datasets poses both a great power and a frightening difficulty.  With its scalable, agile, and efficient data storage, processing, and analysis infrastructure, cloud computing has grown to be a major enabler in this sense.  The always shifting junction between Big Data and cloud computing is discussed in this work together with how their interaction is altering fields of applications, technological structures, and research approaches.  Particular attention is paid to the evolving needs of geospatial science and digital earth applications, in which spatiotemporal data forms the center of interest.  The study also takes into account the more general consequences of universal data access, including ethical, social, and legislative ones.  By means of following current trends and establishing possible futures, the book clarifies how cloud-driven Big Data is redefining the boundaries of innovation and creativity in the digital age.
