The paper examines the application of blockchain technology for identity management on electronic voting systems to improve fairness and transparency. Challenges in electronic voting systems include ensuring voter privacy, preventing fraudulent voting, and providing transparency. Current procedures are exposed to identity fraud, vote distortion, and lack of rigorous mechanisms which are critical for maintaining elections. These issues are alleviated with the Secure Voter Authentication and Vote Casting Framework (DID-VBC) which implements Decentralized Identity Verification on Blockchain. This system allows complete transparency and anonymity, while ensuring only authorized participants cast votes. The method proposed uses blockchain technology’s features of immutability and decentralization to secure and enhance transparency in the processes of identity verification and voter casting. It removes single points of failure from a central structure and creates voting systems that guarantee verifiable records that cannot be altered. Results demonstrate the improvement of trust, security, and transparency of electronic voting systems with the use of the DID-VBC technique, proving it more advanced than traditional e-voting system.
